thx jas for arranging!
and mich ah....its ur turn next ah....lol
yest was a great nite w the OH.
the 3 of u were damn entertaining at PLAY lah! lol
theres sumting i nvr told u though,
the main reason why i rent cars is ur presence in my room at nite :)
time passes really fast when u r enjoying every min of it,
but really slow when u're not. urgh.
shall accumulate more food pics 1st b4 i blog them all in 1 post to save time.

gonna be another food post again.
think i might be posting most of the food pics here rather den in my food blog frm now on coz its more convenient lah.
went for a meeting sometime last wk at sin ming on my own, and was a little hungry after that and i know nearby got some cafes and eating places which i wanted to try, and since theres really nothing much waiting for me to do in the office, i took a bus there and walked ard abit, b4 i stumbled into this place.
now i know i shouldnt be having this esp when i m already so fat and i m SUPPOSED to try to jian fei, but its juz once in awhile and the signboard screamed FAMOUS leh....

so this is wat i had, simply juz 2 kosong pratas and a kopi-peng

in a word of fairness, the prata is really crispy, different from most prata stalls.
i dunno if u guys can see it from the pic, but the prata is nearly paper-thin! and it has a cracking sound that u get with biting biscuits when u try to cut/tear it into half.
hmmz its not too oily, maybe coz all the oil have been either cooked away, or soaked in the prata *shrugz* but the prata is quite plain when eaten on its own, but with the curry, its not bad.

i m not sure how much it costs, but its prob not too ex, as i only paid $2.50 for everything including the kopi.
If u guys are interested in trying, i cant really rmb the road name (i tink its upper thomson road), but if u know how to get to sin ming (the phor kark see temple there), its juz a few bus stops away (i tink the 2nd/3rd one once u got on the big main road)
this next place is wat i have been eyeing at for quite sumtime already, mainly due to its yummy displays of colourful mock-up food that they offer in their glass panels.
no pics of that, but u wun miss it if u walk past this restaurant.

i dunno why the chopsticks r here, but since its already taken, so juz let it be den!

this restaurant is quite health-conscious, so they offer a small bowl of complimentary salad with every main course ordered.
and mind you, its RAW veggies again.
and even though theres a little bit of dressing in it, and i extra-dressed mine in a little spicy olive oil to make it tastier, i still didnt wanna finish my portion and passed it to the person who was dining with me, lol.

my companion had the Doria Scallop & Chicken (scallop and chicken baked rice), where pieces of scallops and chicken are placed on a bed of cooked rice, drenched with cream sauce and baked with cheese . i only tried one mouth so i cant really comment, but from the look of it, its really rich and milky! so for those who are scared of gaining weight or dun like overly milky stuff, better not try this man!
PS: i know it doesnt look too nice in the pic lah, the photographer is prob too hungry already, which explains the super close proximity to the food! lol.

i had the Wafu Tako, Ika & Mentai (octopus, squid and fish roe spaghetti in wafu sauce). wafu sauce is their healthier type of sauce, which is sumting like the aglio olio sauce in italian pastas minus the garlic. which is basically sumting like no sauce lah, as u can see from the pic. it comes with small pieces of octopus and squid and lots and lots of tiny fish roe, and a heap of seaweed as u all can see. but i tink the pasta is done pretty good, like al dente, bouncy and not mushy, good!

for dessert we both shared an ichigo-milk parfait, which is actually soft-serve ice-cream doused with strawberry sauce, served with fresh strawberries and cornflakes at the bottom and a small waffle on top. hmmz not dat bad i guess, but i m not really into milky stuff bah.

prices for main courses (pasta, baked rice, or pizza) fange from $10.80-$18.80 i tink. so prices are sumwhere between cafe and restaurant prices i guess.
i will definitely go bk again to try their other pastas!
PS: this outlet we went to was at Central, and theres another one opening in Marina Square. i tink its better to make a reservation in advance if not you might need to wait for quite sum time

dun really have anyting specific to say, so shall post some random pics of food we had in the past few wks.
went Miss Clarity cafe for dinner yest.
was quite packed, so could see it was pretty popular for the youngsters. guess dat explains the long long wait for the food n drks.
anyway we both had a main course, and topped up $3 to make it a set, which consists of an additional soup/salad, drk and dessert of the day.
and guess wat?
yeah, i had the salad. someone who stays away from raw veges as much as she can.
no choice lah, alot of pple say i fat liao. sigh.

The OH had the soup of the day, which was cream of vegetable.
i didnt try it, so couldnt comment. (the overly yellow-ness was the result of a yellow soup on a yellow table with flash)

for mains, i had the chicken ballotine, which was oven-baked chicken thigh stuffed with shitake mushrooms in a mushroom sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes and veges.
most of it was ok, juz dat the chicken was prob too over-cooked such dat it came out hard n dry.
next time shld try their pastas.

the OH had the garlic-crusted dory. the dory was pretty smooth, like the 'can-slide-down-ur-throat' kind, and was topped with someting which tasted like spicy fried garlic crumbs, with the same accompaniment as mine.

dessert was a scoop of choc ice-cream. nothing very special, so no pics.
overall, the cafe is quite cute, food is ok and i like it dat they automatically give each table a jug of ice water without us having to ask. and on a sidenote, they only accept cash.
brought the OH to My Secret Garden for dessert to fufil one of the wishes.
had only 2 desserts to share coz we were pretty full by den. (the pics look pretty weird coz the OH said it didnt turn out nice enough in normal mode, so it was changed to sepia or dunno-wat mode)
the 1st dessert was a brownie. pretty std and normal, warm brownie with choc and nuts in itand covered in choc sauce. tried to coax the OH to order a slightly more special brownie called Sinful Love (or sumting like dat) but failed. oh well.

i had the sticky toffee date pudding which was pretty good. even the OH tinks so, and couldnt resist pinching at my cake. lol.
its prob slightly diff from marmalade pantry's in terms of taste and presentation, but juz as good.

prices are restaurant-std, but once a mth shld be no prob.
the ambience is pretty nice, good for pple who like to have a quiet, romantic meal.
this next place was specifically requested by the OH to be inserted in here.
the OH was at clarke quay with frenz, and came across this famous ice-cream shop from japan, and tried their ice-cream.
after which, it was all good ravings, and specifically gave it a 4/5 rating. lol.
prob i shld try it for myself 1 day.

the ice-cream in question: red bean matcha with milk tea. (wheres the red bean though?)

lastly, the strawberry cheesecake from rocky master while slacking.
pretty good for a cafe cheesecake i would say.
the cheese taste is very smooth and "gao (hokkien for rich)"
and look at the dripping strawberry sauce man! *slurp*
need i say more?

ok, dats all i have for now.
one who tinks he has climbed the highest, will fall the greatest.

finally a long weekend which i have been looking forward to since i started work.
left earlier to meet my parents for dinner on wed, den met the OH while parents went to watch movie.
was slacking at home on thurs, and went clubbing at nite.
took leave on fri, but had to go settle some stuff with AIA and meet some prudential manager n blah. tot i could take the day to rest, but by the time i finished everything, its dinner time. sigh.
was supposed to meet LS, joel n huimin for dinner n chilling out, but was too tired to come out, so had to postpone it. sry guys.
and tmr relatives r coming over in the day for some gathering thing, have tuition in the morn, and meeting OH for dinner.
sun will be singing k lunch and prob hang out till dinner time.
n there goes my long weekend.
my goodness.
for those who dun already know, i m seriously considering a career switch.
and yes, its prob either AIA or Prudential.
but dun start shunning me lah, i wun coax u guys to take up plans dat u dun need.
but i dun mind if u guys wanna recommend frenz or relatives to me though. (got referral fee de leh) *grinz*
nvr really imagined in the past dat i would be a financial advisor though.
coz its those pple i always try to 'siam' from. lol.
but after 1 whole round, i might become 1 of them. shrugz.
reasons?
non-office-bound, flexibility, interactive, pple-oriented, challenging.
and u can be rewarded according to the amt of hard work u put in.
(i dunno how many times i had to give the above ans all in all)
basically i hope to earn as much as i can in the shortest time possible so dat i can FINALLY open my cafe.
and pray i dun drop dead by den.
the OH said "u wanna do sales, den u dun emo on me ah! i already warn u sales job not easy ah..."
sigh, u tink i wan to emo de meh. bleah.
