random rantings:
activities these few weeks - eating. sleeping. calling. canvassing. meeting. talking. travelling. and the cycle repeats.
dun ask me questions i dun wanna answer. ask me those with no answers.
time and solutions are complementary.
the heart sees, what the eyes dun see. they juz lack communication.
stubborn-ness is not an act of defiance. its juz a form of escapism.
u will never know how much u mean to me, till the day i say u dun mean anything at all.
luck is like ur shadow, the more u chase after it, the further it runs away from u.
if time can heal all wounds, what are plasters for?
if deadlines can be stretched, why bother to set one in the 1st place?
the difference btw friends and colleagues lies in only 1 word. trust.

took 2 days 'leave' on tues and wed to celebrate the OH's bdae....so heres a summary of wat we did...
went to try the famous Riverside Indonesian Restaurant at Clarke Quay on tues nite...but seriously, despite all the hype, its so-so only leh...not cheap though...

ordered the charcoal BBQ set for 2 people....consisted of a whole BBQ fish (snapper i tink), 2 BBQ chicken legs, 2 BBQ sotongs, 3 chicken and 3 mutton satays

if u are wondering how come the whole platter looks black, rmb its CHARCOAL bbq platter u noe...

the satays are ok loh....tastes like satays u get anywhere else in sg...but the mutton ones are quite tender though....

the sotongs are ok too....not too overcooked, not too undercooked....but OH found them abit rubbery.....but generally, passable....

the chicken thighs are a little bit inconsistent though....the drumstick part i ate was quite soft and tender, but its adjoining thigh was quite tough and dry.....weird....and OH found the other whole leg quite tough....esp when its left there for sumtime....but well, at least they are all cooked....

lastly, the fish...luckily the OH noes how to tackle whole fishes, if not we will both juz leave it prettily lying there....coz i dun like the hassle for fiddling thru all the various sizes of fish bones....but well, the OH found the fish as the nicest part of the dish...i found the fish abit dry though....maybe coz i m more used to steamed fish....but overall, still not bad lah....coz got pple remove bones for me mah....hahha....
one thing to complain though.....sumhow, the marinades and sauces used for all the 4 parts of the dish tasted suspiciously similar....no variety lah!!
after dinner, met frenz for drks at Timbre @ Substation.....

strawberry champagne and lychee freeze! and yes, I had the very 女人 sounding drk....lol....no mroe pics for the rest of the nite coz no cam!
went to sentosa on wed for 2 main agendas, Sentosa Luge and Skyride!! and since it was raining when we arrived, we added in the 4D Cinemax to kill time....

the Luge tattoo! it was chopped on our hands halfway down the slope...damn hard to wash away lah! as for the rest of the pics...pte and confidential! hahaha
went bk to vivo for dinner...which was damn disappointing.....

oops, wrong order...this was dessert afetr dinner...3 scoops of ice cream and a tiny waffle from Haagen Dazs...damn ex lah!!

view of the ferry terminal from vivocity...nice rite???
and now for the horrible dinner....walked ard to find sumting nice and interesting....and came across Shin kushiya...there were alot of newspaper articles on it at the entrance, so we tot it shld be not bad, so decided to give it a try....coz they are SUPPOSEDLY famous for their yakitori...

a complimentary appetiser came 1st...which was a portion of raw vegs like cabbage, cucumbers and carrot sticks, accompanied by a sesame-like dipping sauce which tasted suspiciously like chee cheong fun sauce.....but well, since Bosses restaurant also serves sumting similar to this, but their food is pretty gd, so we still had much hope for the rest of the meal....

ordered a dunno-wat-is-it-called yakitori platter for 2...consisting of 2 grilled rice sticks, 2 grilled chicken sticks, 2 grilled mushroom sticks, 2 grilled pork collar sticks, 2 shishamos and 2 grilled meatball sticks...and from den on, it went downhill....

1st up, the pork collar on the left was suppposed to be 1 of the most special items on the set...but it was the only item dat we both hated....all we saw, was lumps and lumps of fat...GRILLED PORK FAT!!! i nearly died after innocently trying the 1st 2 bites....i really didnt expect pork collar/neck/wateva to be SOOOO fat!!! i couldnt find a single ounce of meat lah!!! sighh....so we juz left the rest of it on the plate....the mushrooms next to it was abit salty, but definitely much more palatable den those 2 sticks of fat!

shishamos are, well, generally not something we like to eat...and after eating those 2, it doesnt help to change our liking towards it, 'nuff said....the meatballs are average too...although again, tasted like the same sauce used for the mushrooms and chicken....

the grilled rice sticks on the left were pretty hard for my liking...to me, they tastes like a harder, slightly less tasteful version of the 锅粑 u get below claypot rice....noting nice....the chicken sticks taste like, well, those that u get in tori Q outlets....although much more ex....

by den, we were damn disappointed with the meal, but i juz wanted to give them 1 more chance, and ordered another item from the menu...the salmon belly.....but den again....haiz.....firstly, the portion is MEAGRE!!! 1 tiny piece of salmon for $4!! and secondly, its DAMN OILY!! sigh....after dat, i was damn disappointed, and didnt even wanna give their desserts a 3rd chance....and we left for Haagen Dazs....

面对着我你何必若无其事
离开我你才能对自己诚实
回忆虽然难以收拾
若无其事不去面对现实
才讽刺

"theres a time for everything"
i agree.
thank god for all the frenz i made in AIA.
they are a real great bunch.
coz no man is an island.
if there wasn't any1 ard me dat i can be called "close" to, this biz is gonna be so damn lonely.
and i will prob leave few mths ago.
but now, its becoz of them, dat i actually couldn't bear to leave.
but frenship is a mutual effort.
both sides have to put in effort, to care and to share.
and i tink i have done my part for them so far, and will continue to do so.
i am glad. i didnt walk away.
我们的疏远,是因为我的冷默,还是你的不在乎?
,4:04 PM
wat a twist of fate.
i was all prepared to accept a new change of environment, and finally ready to leave.
but i wasnt accepted.
so i cant leave.
i am still here.
though not as happy as before.
or was i even?
but after this incident, i realised theres a part of me who wans to move on. to greener pastures.
but as long as i m still here, i have to throw away those negative thoughts. or at least try.

i.am. so. bloody. tired.
i m tired when i woke up.
tired when i had my brunch.
tired when i was travelling to PS.
tired while waiting for colleagues to arrive.
tired when i was canvassing.
tired when i was in the journey bk to office.
tired when i was eating my chicken rice.
tired when i was on the way to chinatown.
tired while walking all over to find that stupid tailor shop.
tired on the bus ride bk.
tired while walking home.
but now, not so tired when facing my "baby" and drking 100+!
the miracle of isotonic drks.
sumtimes i wish i was a cat.
so i can have 9 lives.
whenever i am sick and tired of 1 life, juz end it and move to the next one lah! lol.
i tried. i am sick of trying. i am sick of trying to try. but yet, i still have to try to try.
understand?
1 more thing to fret abt: which PROFESSIONAL outfit shld i wear on fri morning. sigh.

and why cant my brain coincide with my heart and make my decision-making easier!
*grumbles*
我也要去“看海”!
oh, and a fren's sis is looking for pple to work part time in F&B for 6mths, no need to commit everyday...pay not too bad...urgent....any1 interested juz let me know k??
,2:50 PM
went for supper yest after telethon with chmm....she intro-ed a 猪杂汤 place in chinatown, behind smith street, next to the new temple...

ok, pardon the lousy pics, was too engrossed with eating and forgot to adjust the pics...lol...nway, the soup was so-so only lah.....quite a small bowl for $4 though....but at least its not DAT peppery....

tried another dish dat looks interesting...and has a long name....花雕枸杞姜片炒鸡! but, nice as the name sounds....its so-so only...basically tastes like stir-fried chicken pieces in sesame oil, ginger slices and tiny weeny resemblances of hua diao jiu...

all in all, noting so interesting....the only thing is dat it opens till 11pm, so can be listed as 1 of those places i can go for supper....
however, while walking to the shop, i came across this small german outdoor eating place dat sells bratwurst with sauerkraut for only $5!! cheap german food!! shall try there 1 day....hahah
my prospects these days are weird. postponement rates are at a all-time high these few wks, and i dunno why. and i am starting to take them personally (i dunno why too). when i really wanna stay, they postpone. when i finally wanna go, they all can meet me. wth.
