went for a wedding dinner at Club Chinois in Orchard Parade Hotel, was too bored so decided to do up a post abt it, and started snapping pics....no comments for dis though....
heres the little gift that was placed @ each seat: dark chocs!

heres the menu for the nite:

the 1st dish, cold dish! it consists of tempura prawns, roast duck, suckling pig, jellyfish and vietnamese spring roll:

2nd dish, sharksfin with crabmeat and dried scallop!

next, prawns & scallops with asparagus:

Shell mushrooms (tastes and looks like abalone!)with spinach tofu:

this was supposed to be some steamed Marble Goby (also known as Soon Hock) fish, but when it came, it was 'viciously' attacked, and i forgot to take a pic of it, so heres wats left:

me and colleagues went KTV-ing last thurs.....and it was damn fun lah....i tink the 3 of them were trying to sing their guts out, and ended up making me laugh my guts out lah! :)

due to a slight glitch, heres the 2nd half of the prev post:
heres a short post on a famous confectionary dat most of Singaporean foodies know, which has lip-smacking desserts:

yeah, dats no other den Canele! went there for desserts with the OH, although we (or rather, me) were quite stuffed with our Shokudo pasta dinner.....oh, sidetrack abit, the tomato cream-based pasta in Shokudo is damn filling lah!! even ME couldnt finish my portion of pasta! so for those who dun really love cream, or cant eat too much, best not to order their cream based pastas....ok, bk to Canele, i had the Exotique dessert, which is Passionfruit & Banana Sorbet, with chocolate almond crumble and dark choc shards

honestly, the sorbet was pretty good, apart from the interesting flavour....it combines the unmistaking recognition of good'ol bananas, and the refreshing tartness of passionfruit...and the scoop was pretty big, so too bad for me dat i ate too full for dinner to fully finish the sorbet...the "supporting actors" however, were very ordinary.....the pieces of choc almond crumbles tasted like choc biscottis dat TCC and some other coffee cafes serve with their coffees....and the dark choc shards? well, they weren't even dark choc to begin with, tasted more like milk choc....but they were too insignificant, so i cant be bothered to feedback dat to the staff....and so, all these for $8! not too cheap, but not too ex i guess....other den this, they also have other interesting flavours in their ice cream and sorbets section, like rose ice cream, earl grey ice cream, calamansi sorbet, etc...worth me gg bk again to try!
the OH had 2 small sweets instead, 1st is a pistachio macaroon, coz the OH has been craving for macaroons since dunno when....lol....well, tried a small bite, and all i can say is dat its much palatable den Gobi's, for those dat do not have dat much of a sweet tooth....this is not as sweet, and has a nice crunch to it....its $2.30 for each of this...

the other dessert is the tarte griottine....becoz the OH wanted something tarty and fruity oso....and since they didnt have the original choice of carrot cake, we settled for this.....however, this tarte is the worse of the lot....nothing very special....tarty, yes....crumbly, quite....other den dat, nothing much.....damage for this is $5.50 a slice....

my verdict? go bk for the other ice creams, other cute desserts in the glass case (like the lychee and the strawberry gems) and maybe the crepes....

i realised doing a fotoblog is much much easier den doing a real food blog, coz all i need to do is post pics, write abit of stuff here n there, and voila! haha ok, dats the lazy me bk in action.
nway, was doing canvassing with colleagues in tanjong pagar last wed, when me and Jan decided to take a teeny weeny break, and went for desserts at this rather famous tong shui place at Tanjong Pagar Plaza....so heres a pic of the menu:
i had the cold mango sago and Jan had ice red bean....well, no comments on her red bean coz i didnt try coz i DUN LIKE BEANS!! but the mango was not bad though....its the "gao gao (thick thick)" type, with a heap of crushed ice to dilute it a little....well, i was too excited to finish it, so i forgot abt taking pics! heh, so heres a pic of the mango sago on the menu:

worth trying on a hot day! other den the Tanjong Pagar outlet, there are also outlets in People's Park Centre and The Arcade

no comments, so try it urself! but if u prefer the fresh sliced fish instead the fried ones, pls go early coz its sold out very fast. we were there ard 7+ and theres only abt 3 portions of the fried fish left

its been a long long time since i blogged anyting interesting, so to celebrate the birth of my new baby, heres an international buffet of food pics from various parts of SG, but with lesser commentaries coz its tiring to comment on everyting!
1st up, singapore's infamous Hainan Chicken Rice! This is from a small coffeeshop along Purvis St, juz a short walk from Miss Clarity. Its prob also the only shop in SG dat has the Hainan Chicken Rice Balls dat can be found in Malaysia, but u have to go early, coz its prob sold out by lunchtime. However, other den dat, i dun tink the chicken is very spectacular, but at least the souop dat comes with the rice dun have much MSG dat will leave u thirsty after dat.



next up, Jap ramen! 3 diff kinds of ramen! Firstly, the Shio(pork broth i tink?) Ramen from Bishamon in Raffles City

next, the Spicy Miso Ramen from Bishamon. Honestly, i dun both Ramens are fully worth their price of $16 a bowl.

lastly, the Stewed Egg & Char Shu Ramen from Noodle House Ken in Orchard Plaza. So-so only too.


next on the line is Korean food from Jang Shou along Mosque St!

so heres 2 Gelare waffle baskets with a total of 6 scoops of ice cream of ur choice @ half px with Citibank cards!

last but not least, to end off with a sweet note, Twin Divine cake by Miss Clarity Cafe! A bottom layer of crumbly biscuit base, topped with a layer of creamy-but-not-too-rich cheese bar, further topped with a layer of dark chocolate mousse, finished with sprinkles of cocoa powder! Definitely muz share!
