gonna be another food post again.
think i might be posting most of the food pics here rather den in my food blog frm now on coz its more convenient lah.
went for a meeting sometime last wk at sin ming on my own, and was a little hungry after that and i know nearby got some cafes and eating places which i wanted to try, and since theres really nothing much waiting for me to do in the office, i took a bus there and walked ard abit, b4 i stumbled into this place.
now i know i shouldnt be having this esp when i m already so fat and i m SUPPOSED to try to jian fei, but its juz once in awhile and the signboard screamed FAMOUS leh....

so this is wat i had, simply juz 2 kosong pratas and a kopi-peng

in a word of fairness, the prata is really crispy, different from most prata stalls.
i dunno if u guys can see it from the pic, but the prata is nearly paper-thin! and it has a cracking sound that u get with biting biscuits when u try to cut/tear it into half.
hmmz its not too oily, maybe coz all the oil have been either cooked away, or soaked in the prata *shrugz* but the prata is quite plain when eaten on its own, but with the curry, its not bad.

i m not sure how much it costs, but its prob not too ex, as i only paid $2.50 for everything including the kopi.
If u guys are interested in trying, i cant really rmb the road name (i tink its upper thomson road), but if u know how to get to sin ming (the phor kark see temple there), its juz a few bus stops away (i tink the 2nd/3rd one once u got on the big main road)
this next place is wat i have been eyeing at for quite sumtime already, mainly due to its yummy displays of colourful mock-up food that they offer in their glass panels.
no pics of that, but u wun miss it if u walk past this restaurant.

i dunno why the chopsticks r here, but since its already taken, so juz let it be den!

this restaurant is quite health-conscious, so they offer a small bowl of complimentary salad with every main course ordered.
and mind you, its RAW veggies again.
and even though theres a little bit of dressing in it, and i extra-dressed mine in a little spicy olive oil to make it tastier, i still didnt wanna finish my portion and passed it to the person who was dining with me, lol.

my companion had the Doria Scallop & Chicken (scallop and chicken baked rice), where pieces of scallops and chicken are placed on a bed of cooked rice, drenched with cream sauce and baked with cheese . i only tried one mouth so i cant really comment, but from the look of it, its really rich and milky! so for those who are scared of gaining weight or dun like overly milky stuff, better not try this man!
PS: i know it doesnt look too nice in the pic lah, the photographer is prob too hungry already, which explains the super close proximity to the food! lol.

i had the Wafu Tako, Ika & Mentai (octopus, squid and fish roe spaghetti in wafu sauce). wafu sauce is their healthier type of sauce, which is sumting like the aglio olio sauce in italian pastas minus the garlic. which is basically sumting like no sauce lah, as u can see from the pic. it comes with small pieces of octopus and squid and lots and lots of tiny fish roe, and a heap of seaweed as u all can see. but i tink the pasta is done pretty good, like al dente, bouncy and not mushy, good!

for dessert we both shared an ichigo-milk parfait, which is actually soft-serve ice-cream doused with strawberry sauce, served with fresh strawberries and cornflakes at the bottom and a small waffle on top. hmmz not dat bad i guess, but i m not really into milky stuff bah.

prices for main courses (pasta, baked rice, or pizza) fange from $10.80-$18.80 i tink. so prices are sumwhere between cafe and restaurant prices i guess.
i will definitely go bk again to try their other pastas!
PS: this outlet we went to was at Central, and theres another one opening in Marina Square. i tink its better to make a reservation in advance if not you might need to wait for quite sum time
