when we were there, the whole place was packed with pple, and we had to wait awhile outside for available tables. dat was 1 gd sign. lucky we weren't a big grp, so managed to share a table with an auntie. the interior looks like a small tze char place, with tables pretty close to each other and servers shouting to the kitchen and darting all across the place with plates and bowls.
had my usual order for fish beehoon, "鱼片米粉汤, 幼米粉, 不要奶". in my life so far, the best fish beehoon i tasted was the 1 near my office (which has always been the yardstick to measure my fish beehoon), which always has a queue from 11.30am onwards, and is always sold out b4 3pm. this 1 is actually not too bad, prob can be in my top 3 (coz fish beehoon isnt exactly my fav dish, heh). the fish is not too fishy, prob coz of the ginger slices, but its not as smooth as the 1 near my office. but the soup is flavourful, and doesnt leave me too thirsty after dat, which means there isnt an overload of MSG in it. the beehoon still has its bite, while absorbing sum flavour from the soup. the vegs r still crunchy and not overcooked, but sadly its not my fav cabbage, which the stall near my office uses. overall, not too bad a bowl of fish beehoon. but not too cheap, at $5.20.
prawn paste chicken. this was 1 dish dat we saw nearly every table ordering, so of coz we had to have 1 ourselves! its not too bad oso, even though we left it on the table for awhile while we finished our beehoon, it still remained crispy on the outside, and a little juicy on the inside. although 1 thing i always dun understand when i eat this dish, wheres the prawn paste in the prawn paste chicken???
